Wonderful Obama's wonderful photographer juxtaposes tweets and articles for this Administration with pictures and comments from the last. I enjoy his perspective and sense of humor, although it makes me sad to again see how the Presidency has been besmirched.

I was given this book as a gift and I have read it just a month or two after it would have been most resonant for me, but it has dated in a hurry. Now that I can't remember the 45th president, attacks against him using pictures of the 44th president seem like they are taking advantage of an elderly unstable person - perhaps even piling on. Don't you feel sorry for the Master Cylinder after Felix has ruined all his plans? Also, Mr. Souza's little book may, in time, seem like someone criticizing a name-calling ignoramus by calling him names. Lastly, the pictures in my copy of this book are small, and I recommend that you skip this one and get instead, Obama. An Intimate Portrait with much bigger and better photos and almost no mention of 45.

Interesting to see, and I'm glad I read it. But it worked a lot better as a documentary. I don't think I would have gotten the story from this book alone. And even the photos themselves were not as impressive in this format. And honestly I try not to give trump and of my head space, so being taken back to this was not a positive feeling.

I enjoyed the comparisons that Souza made, and how. Being a White House photographer must give such a unique perspective on the presidency and you really must see it all. It makes me respect his opinion quite a bit on what’s he’s seen so far with the trump administration.

Shade was a nice reminder of how presidents should and used to act. Granted you may not agree with them always, or ever, but at least know how to conduct yourself in public.

This was definitely 100% Souza’s opinions and I didn’t feel that he was trying to show anything but that.

A contrast between Tr*mp’s tweets and headlines and portraits made during the Obama era. What we’ve lost... and we’ve gained nothing.

Pete Souza began working for Obama when he was in the US Senate. He was the official White House Photographer during both terms for Obama. He uses tweets from Trump and news headlines to contrast with images of the Obama Presidency and personal reflections from himself to contrast the leadership style of the two. His admiration for Obama and disdain of Trump are obvious. Anyone reading this book would likely have the same bias.
