This was an okay collection of stories. For me, Superfriends Pt. 2 (featuring Batman and Wonder Woman) was the standout because of the dynamic not only between Bruce and Diana, but also Diana and Selina. The Gentle Man's story is a sad and compelling one, and I'm glad that Diana was prepared to give him another break.

I didn't care for the first story, as it was predictable from the start and didn't make any sense. What I liked about "Everyone Loves Ivy" was Selina's great monologue about planning their wedding in an Ivy-created world. But the rest of it wasn't compelling. Ivy is supposedly consumed by guilt for something she did years before, so she wants to take over the world to save it. Admittedly, I'm not a big Ivy fan and not familiar with her recent portrayal, but hasn't she always wanted to save the world and heal it from what she considered humanity's abuse (or at least hasn't that been her motivation more than once in the past)? So, why does she need to feel guilty about something in order to take the actions she does?

The final story, about Selina selecting her wedding gown even as her previous interactions with Batman over the years are recalled (by either her or the omniscient narrator--it isn't clear), was fine. Selina chooses to rob a bridal store, but I felt that she was cutting it pretty close in her timing and probably should have started at least 30 minutes earlier. Although I doubt it will happen, I'm interested if King ever plays out her choice and its effect on her relationship with Batman. After all, he doesn't condone her stealing. Is this something she needs to do to maintain her sense of self or independence, because she's unwilling to deny herself things she can't afford, or just so that she doesn't get bored? Whatever the reasoning, it should create conflict in the relationship.

Thank you to by Tom King, DC Entertainment, DC Comics, and NetGalley for allowing me the extreme pleasure of access to an advanced reader copy of “Batman Vol. 6: Bride or Burglar” for an honest review.

I found this book to be a little unbalanced. I neither found my expected amount of brooding, and bloody, Batman, nor as much focus on the impending nuptials as I expected. There were more pieces that were entirely off subject than I thought should be in the book at all, given the title and the time period.

There were some good things happening in this volume, like the Wonder Woman stuff. But the rest of it was pretty uneventful and forgettable. It feels like they are stalling until the wedding.

I willingly confess that it has been years since I have seen a Batman movie, and decades since the television show, and I've never fully read a graphic novel, but when the opportunity to review this title came up, I gladly jumped at it. How exciting to read about Batman and Catwoman, whose altar ego is Selina Kyle, being engaged! The two were archenemies in years gone past, but now they are about to become a married couple. While the nuptials are approaching, chaos continues to abound, bringing both Batman and Catwoman to the brink of danger.

The story begins with a young idol of Batman's and of the terrible tragedy he has just experienced, that of the murder of his parents. This hits just a little too close to home to Bruce Wayne's own younger life. As Batman hunt's for the killer, there are things about his very life that he is brought face-to-face with, a past that he would've preferred to remain there, in the past. The drama continues to unfold as Batman and Wonder Woman are forced together during some strenuous situations, making their very futures look rather bleak. The villains abound, with a perfect level of action and continuity. One night, in the midst of all of the chaos, Catwoman sneaks off to try and find the perfect wedding dress. I just had to smile, because I almost cannot imagine Catwoman picking out her dress for the impending nuptials.

I am very glad that I picked up this graphic novel, and for several reasons. The art itself is outstanding, as is the storyline itself. The fact that there were shorter stories within made this an engaging read as well. As briefly mentioned, I loved the continuity of friends and foes. So much so that I immediately went over to NetGalley to request more titles. Also, I will be seeking out the advice of my future son-in-law, because he is a true aficionado if these types of novels.

I confess to being a newbie so I do hope that I did this review justice. Should I get to read another book of this nature, I now know more of what to expect, like the connected stories, flashbacks, and to expect a very quick read. By the way, now I see why people spend so much money on these novels, because they are enticing and people do want a lot of substance and the thinner ones end almost all too quickly. What is good about that, however, is that the reader is definitely left wanting more.

Many thanks to DC Entertainment and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was not great. I did not enjoy this one.

For the most part I did not understand some of the storylines in this one. It was confusing with the story jumping all over the place with not much reason for it.

It was ok but not the best in the series.

This was an interesting volume though it starts off well with a new kid named Matt who wants to be Master bruce and its a very twisted tale and sees the birth of another serial killer and its ery weird but the next tale with Diana and Bruce as they go to this realm Gehenna to fight off monsters there while its fighter "The Gentle man" takes a break and its a very corny story but shows the thing and friendship between Bruce and diana and also Selina and how she is feeling though I wished the writer had done more of it rather than just showing the concept and yeah its a missed opportunity.

The next story with Ivy is so weird like she is controlling the world and Selina taking out the Flashes which is such a weird thing like how? But suspending that disbelief the reasons are not explained that well or maybe just showing she is having some breakdown which rather confuses the reader themselves but its such great art facilitated by solid moment between Harley and Ivy and makes it a good read and the last being Selina and her dress which leads to the biggest event in DC.

Its a volume filled with great moments and dumb and amazing art throughout and also some heavy misses and confusing ones so yeah take your pick and decide if you wanna read it or not.
