I think this is my favorite of the Once Upon a Con books! The Fangirl book reference had nothing to do with that. Nothing at all. I also most definitely did not squeal and tear up. Nope not me.

My biggest issue with this book is that it is loosely a beauty and the beast retelling and the MFC name is Rosie Thorne… super cute book though. I totally thought that Vance was going to be a fan of the obscure punk band her dad was in but alas I was wrong.

This was a fun retelling of Beauty and the Beast. And I loved some of the references to the Disney version that I know and love, such as a diner owner named Mrs. Pots and them talking about a book they were reading having magic spells, daring swordfights, and a prince in disguise (Vance also says he figured that out by chapter 3). I did miss that this one wasn't set at a con like the previous two books were, but we do still get appearances from some past characters.

I wanted something cute, happy, and fun and this delivered. This whole book just feels like a love letter to fans.

Also after reading this I legit want there to be Starfield novels
