Okay so where to start. I started this book around a year ago. It was way les investing than the other books so I put it of for a while. I picked it back up around a month ago. And I ended up loving it it was a little bit Les action packed than the other books but the end for sure made up for that.

*spoilers ahead*

The ending made me feel every existing emotion Keefe would have gone nuts if he was next to me. I loved the reunion i loved the family connections. But why why why Shannon mr forkel really? like you made me ball my eyes out I will never forgive you. And that ending I am so ready for book 6!!!!

Lodestar is quite the trip. It continues the tradition of Sophie and friends trying to catch up to the plans of their enemies, but never being quite able to get there despite figuring out lots of little pieces along the way.

I don't feel like there is any particularly focused plot point here. The big thing is trying to figure out the Lodestar that the Neverseen seem to be using, which is where our title comes from, but there are lots of things going on throughout the book.

On the interesting side of things we get to see more of Linh and Tam who I enjoy having be part of the group. We also get to see more of the other species and their cultures which expands the world a bit more and shows that the other species are impressive in their own right.

On the frustrating side of things you have Keefe's turn to be the stupid boy of the book. It's been done with Dex and Fitz, so it's time to give Sophie's other potential love interest a book highlighting that he can do stupid well too. I kind of understand his motivations here, but it didn't make that much sense.

The endings of these books also continue to give you a lovely parting gut punch. Thankfully we've got the next couple books already and don't have to wait too long in between. Still though these endings really like to smack you around a little.

This is book five of a series that has some pretty lengthy books, I'm doubting that you've made it this far without enjoying the book to some degree. I don't know that this book will change that, it's more of what we come to expect from our group of young elves and I'm looking forward to what they'll be up to in the next book.
