This book I got recommended by a friend because they thought I would like it. But sadly I didn’t liked it as much as I thought. I liked that it had the two perspectives of the main characters and that they were written by two different authors (one of them I really like!). I don’t love or like the story in general sadly. It was cute sometimes but mostly I was annoyed with Ben for thinking about his past instead of focusing on Arthur. And for Arthur not realizing how Ben felt. I couldn’t figure out where the story was going witch was sad, because I couldn’t get up a hope or cheer on them as I would have wanted to! The narrator were amazing! I liked that they were two and how they really felt like the characters. For example the one reading Arthur’s point of view being very exited and talking fast from time to time! That gave a lot for the story to me!

This was a sweet sfw getting together story but it felt a little superficial. Imo this book and the next in the series could probably have benefited from being a single book.

It was a little slow at some parts. The comedy was pretty good as Dylan is very funny character. Ben and Arthur stand out rightfully so. There were some parts that weren’t exciting and a little anticlimactic here and there. But besides that I enjoyed reading this and this couple. I also wish it went a little more deep with the ideas of universe and fate it brings but that’s just my preference there. Personally in terms of Adam Silveria books, I think I enjoyed “They Both Die at the End” more. For Becky Albertalli this is my first book I read by her so I might update after I read “Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda”.

This is hands down one of the best books I've read.
The progression from strangers to lovers; finding eachother, figuring out their feelings, facing difficult times, and ending it in a good place - it's all brillaint and emotional. It all feels real.
This isn't a feel good story, but the ending tries to make up for their unfortunate circumstances by leaving it in the best place.
The epilogue drives hope into me for their next act, which maybe will end off in a better place for them.
Overall, a beautiful and hopeful story. Maybe not extactly happy, but definitely real.
