This is a story that builds and builds until it finally reaches a turning point that spirals a bit out of control but truly fit the story that was being told. Mars was a wonderful character, non-binary, full of life, curiosity, and dreams! Mars' world is shaken when his twin sister, Caroline, shows up and violently attacks him and his family. He is set on finding out what happened to his sister so he goes back to the summer camp where she had been spending more and more time lately. While his high profile parents try to keep everything out of the press, Mars is trying to process the grief and at the same time solve the mystery of Caroline's life at the camp and her relation to The Honeys, a group of girls who are very popular and reserved.

The story is quite original, I did not guess any of the multiple twists that happened and really felt enveloped in the story. I did take a while to become invested in the story, perhaps it's because I didn't have much interest in the camp and all their activities or rivalries. Camp life is a big part of the story so it took me a while to get through that part of the book and more into what the mystery of The Honeys actually was. Once we got there though, the story picked up quick and I needed to know what was happening with the girls and everyone at the camp.

Overall, if you want something that gives the creepy feels of Midsommar with a touch of nature magic, this is for you!
