Golden Girls meets James Bond is the perfect comp provided in the blurb. This was hilarious & thoroughly entertaining. I loved the descriptive and varied settings from a cruise, to New Orleans, all the way to the Paris catacombs. This book was adventurous & highlighted older, badass, women as the main characters. This was a nice change up from my usual reads & a very fun read!

I had trouble getting into this book, and I’m not sure why that is. I think I expected it to be leaning more on the mystery-side of things when it came to the plot but instead, there was more of an adventure/action focus. That’s totally fine, but not my cup of tea. And since this is a smaller book, we didn’t get into plot too much that I wanted, we mainly went scene to scene with action. I would’ve enjoyed more time to get to know the characters at a deeper level. Open to reading more of Deanna Raybourn, I enjoyed this book for its writing style and how lighthearted things were, but I’m not sure I’ll explore other stories similar to this one (if she writes more like this).
