The copycat was predictable unfortunately, but the scene in the office was 10/10. I love a protective MMC. Thatcher is unhinged and perfect.
Again though, skip all intimacy scenes… not worth reading.

"I'm not sure what our days will look like but I know they'll be better than anything I'd ever imagined for myself.
There is no dream, no goal, no hope.
It's just her.
Her dreams are mine. Her goals are mine. She is my hope.

I love that Lyra stood up more for herself in this book because the obsession made me feel so pathetic 😭 but it's so valid (bc hello Thatcher?!) + made sense for them & their story. ALSO
She's my favorite

This man is a poet and I'm so so glad he
I do love this man and he needs all the love. His vulnerability showed more here and I adored it so much. This is exactly what I wanted from him.
He really is THAT MAN! He'll always come through with his promises. 🙂↕️

Sometimes I found my mind wandering however I did enjoy the book for the most part. There are a lot of inner monologues which I mostly love because Monty captured and wrote it so beautifully. I was in awe every time it was Thatcher's POV and Monty digging into his mind, actually both of their minds.
However, they really grew on me and I love their story now 💞 their connection and history together is so complex and complicated but it's so beautiful and so them. I'm just in adoration of how Monty connected everything, especially for them.
And figuring out The Imitator was predictable but made sense. Also,
This probably isn't a big issue for others but! The ick was given in some of the dialogues during the sex scenes (for me!). I just thought it was cringy and it started to get repetitive. Also, I couldn't really imagine, a character like Thatcher would say some of those things but we move.
TW! Blood kink. It was mentioned in this book a couple of times and yes, there is a TW but every time I read it, I still cringe and.. yuck 🤮💀 but I digress.
Anyways they're both fucked up and sick but I love them sickos 😌

- they're both deranged & obsessed with each other
- killer couple
- forced proximity
- he annotates her books?!
Part 2 was definitely waayy better for me! The pacing moved along much better and had more going on. It picks up pretty much where Part 1 left off on a little cliffhanger.
Thatcher is the prime suspect of the murders around town but I think we all know who's the real copycat killer here. But he has to go into hiding and what better place than Lyra's little cottage in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Ponderosa Springs? They have to find some evidence to prove Thatcher's innocence (in this case) and also find a way to expose the sex trafficking ring without it blowing back on their vigilante involvement. But with the close quarters, they can't not interact or not notice the other so they'll have to face some *feelings*
"Your heart is racing."
"No one told you? I don't have one."
"You can take mine."
The deranged killer couple still delivers on their unconventional morbid relationship bahaha. Lots of knife and blood play of course. They would literally kill for each other no big deal. I love how opposite they can be still with Lyra's more whimsical-ness and Thatcher's intense need for control and order kind of clashing. Lyra was a sweetie with a dark side. She melted Thatcher's icy exterior and helped him realize maybe deep down, despite being turned into a monster by his father, he still is human and still can *feel* just a bit. Yes the process of him realizing he's got *feelings* was hilarious. "Help me! I'm...FEELING!" energy.
Thatcher was there for Lyra to deal with the dark urges she cannot ignore and I love that. He also went so soft on her in his own way and I adored it.
They give so much soulmate energy. I love them so much.
"I think I knew you in a past life. Do you think that's crazy?"
"No." I can hear the smile in his voice. "But me wanting to know you in every life after this one might be."
If she wanted my heart, I'd give it to her. She could keep it on a shelf in one of her jars-it was nevr mine to begin with. Not when it's always been hers.
The ending to this was pretty bittersweet. It was a happy ending of course!

His character development was so perfect to his character. Ugh this man is just so 😻
The way he went from “I feel nothing” to “I feel EVERYTHING” for Lyra is JUST SO BEAUTIFUL.
Lyra really walked him like a dog and proved to him how wrong he was.
I love that in this book we got to see both of these characters grow into each other. The way that I strongly believe these 2 are soulmates in EVERY LIFE is telling.
I know I loved Sage and Rook but I think deep down, Thatch and Lyra take the win for me. I mean their entire relationship is so addictive and incredibly unique.
The notes that they left each other in Lyras books really had me folding, they TRULY get one another.
Although the imitator was predictable, I had a good time with this certain plot given how essential it was to these characters growth.
Cannot believe I’m reading Silas book next, I’m so close to finishing the series 😭

Lyra+Thatcher <3
I really enjoyed being able to see their bond grow even more in this book. We actually got to see how Thatcher attempts to navigate these feelings for Lyra and THAT was a ride on its own.
Something that really hit me in the heart was Lyra's unwavering faith in Thatcher. I was amazed honestly. It didn't matter what he said, she just always believed in him and I think that was exactly what he needed in a partner.
Overall, I loved reading their story. They were absolutely captivating and I couldn't get enough of them. They took me into their dark little world with them and now I don't think I want the bug girl or American psycho to let me go.
