Much to my dismay, I pretty much loathed this book. I'd been so psyched to read it since I watched the UK series based on it last year. However, the author comes off to me as trying extremely hard to be witty and clever when, in fact, she's trite and boring. The only entries in her journal that I truly enjoyed were those recounting work episodes. Unfortunately, the writer's personal love drama constitutes the majority of the book, and it never once drew me in. I just rolled my eyes when she'd blather on about her idiotic ex-boyfriends and her family, which happened far too often for my taste. That said, the short "Belle's A-Z of Sex Work" segments interspersed throughout the book allowed for a charming and insightful look into the world of call girls. I can appreciate the candor and openness with which the writer expresses her views on sex for pleasure and for financial gain, but in the end, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Apparently, the material was collected straight from the author's blog so that if you feel so inclined, you may be bored and irritated for free!

This was an interesting book set in diary format of the daily life of a call girl. Nothing absolutely stellar but a smooth read for a light mood. Don't pick this up if publically talking about sex makes you blush... or maybe yet pick it up and see what you're missing out. If nothing else set this book down with a looser sense of social rigidity.

Clever, witty, hilarious and shameless in the very best way possible. I want this woman to be my best friend.

Some parts were extremely interesting, some were a bit boring. Overall, I enjoyed it.

I've read more honest and gritty depictions of sex workers in Vice... Thoroughly disappointing and juvenile.

There were some funny moments in this book but I couldn't enjoy it. It's the only time I will ever say that I found the TV show more enjoyable than the book.

This book is so bad. It is literal crap, and so completely overrated. It is vapid, and offensive, and I don't think I have ever hated a book more than this one.

Personally I find it really hard to critique diary/journal style books, so not sure how great this review will be. I definitely enjoyed it, particularly the look into sex work and sex work within London. It never shied away from the details, which I think is particularly fantastic given the attitude to women's sexuality. It's not without it's issues though, and parts of it have not aged well.
