It's unfortunate that I keep having the DNF this author's books, but the writing comes across as very immature. So much of the dialogue is cringe and so unlike what anyone would actually say in their own head or in real life. It's just bonkers to me the way these characters interact with one another. This book has lacked depth from so early on. We keep hearing about how this man took care of her, but we don't actually see any of it happen on page. All we see are the sexual vibes between one another.

Honestly I did not like this book but it was indeed fun to read as entertainment as I was traveling. It was my first book I read on my kindle though so congrats to that lol. But yeah just the smut was like too much for me, which has never happened before LMAO. So like if you aren’t up for smut city, do not read this book. I had to skip them. Also the dialogue felt very book-y to me, aka I didn’t feel sucked into the book. It felt like I was reading a story, which I hate cause I am someone who is very visual and I couldn’t do that with this book. Is that makes sense lol.

The romance at some points were cute, and there were moments that had me gasping, but otherwise the plot was predictable and basic. I love a good bodyguard and client romance trope, but the fact that their relationship was hidden for basically the entire book (mini spoiler sorry) kind of put me off. I needed more tension and like bad decision making in public and consequences YA KNOW?

Lastly, the book has a line that is somewhat along the lines of “round with my child” and I actually recoiled with cringe I hate hate hated that.

Anyways, do read this book if you are like extremely bored, but like I wouldn’t read this book if you were you…

I loved Shay and Damian, and I really enjoyed this bodyguard romance. I liked the twists and turns and the mystery elements, but I also liked how it stayed true to a romance and was sexy and smutty the entire time. The relationship and trust with each other were well done, as was the communication. I wanted the progression from Damian saying they couldn’t be together to him saying they could be together to be a bit smoother because it did feel like one extreme to another. Still, overall, I enjoyed this book!

yes yes yes yes yes. the best bodyguard romance i’ve ever read and i will never get over it. shay and damien were so freaking hot. the tension and angst and spicy. my god. the suspense was incredible and i felt like i was on a roller coaster the whole time with my emotions. i can’t. like this book was amazing. i mean come on. it’s an age gap, celebrity, bodyguard romance with all the freaking spice. an overprotective, obsessed, and possessive hero (obviously) and it’s an interracial couple with dual pov!?! and throw in a stalker! it literally cannot get better than this so go get this right now!! what are you waiting for!?
