I love QB Tyler— I just don’t love the celebrity/bodyguard trope. This book kind of sealed that for me.

Sadly I can’t give this more than 3 stars and that is being generous imo.

Keep Her Safe was a very surface level kinda book. Not big on building foundations or taking the time to create a solid relationship between the MCs. It was very much ‘fuck my brains out’ and not, ‘let’s build a semi decent plot + fuck my brains out’.

Which to me, isn’t my kind of story.

Unfortunately, Q.B. Tyler isn’t my go to taboo author anymore. The plots just aren’t there or they fizzle out pretty quickly.

Okay, wow, I loved this. I actually DNF this a few months ago and randomly decided to give it another try. I’m so glad I did!

Damien and Shay were both wonderful and I love their connection. Their banter was really funny, too!

Truly, my ONE issue with the book was the kidnapping scene at the end. What the heck kind of bodyguard training did Kent go through?! I am pretty sure you would NEVER leave your charge alone in a room with someone at knifepoint and then proceed to stand with your back to the door?! How does a freaking TV star get the jump on you, control the situation, and then manage to stab you? Was he not on alert knowing Shay was in there potentially being murdered and they had to come through that door?! What in the actual rent-a-cop was going on there? Honestly, it’s comical and I don’t even want to deduct a star for it!

I absolutely loved the HEA and that there was no third act breakup!

Shay is a high profile Hollywood star. She has been acting since she was a baby, when she is 18 she gets a new bodyguard, Damien.
Shay has always had a crush on Damien, I mean who can blame a girl. After being shit down by him a few times she moves on with Paxton, after three years together they break up. Now at 23 and single shay tries her luck again with Damien, the only man she’s ever be able to depend on.
Damien has been fighting his feelings and attraction to Shay for years, he knows that once he gets a taste he will never be able to let her go.

Ugh Damien’s devotion, his caveman tendencies, his over protectiveness, his “daddy” energy. Is there more to love about this man? Shay is a survivor in every word, she is a badass. Love them.
