The penultimate novel of the series does a lot to start tying in a lot of the questions and mysteries made by the other books. The story is still great like the previous novels. My only issue comes from the group Tawny Owl has working for him. They are fairly present in the story with a lot of dialogue but they all feel pretty forgettable which is rare in these books. I feel Sapkowski does a great job at making characters memorable and feel different. He also will not overburden the reader with unnecessary information about a character that has little importance to the overall story. But as I was reading the scenes with that group, I had trouble differentiating them in my head.

Good, but I definitely feel like these 5 books could have been a better trilogy. But if you like traditional fantasy, then you probably enjoy all the meandering and pointless side quests and characters.

Again enjoyable, not overly plot-heavy, had a satisfying conclusion in that it made me interested in the following book, but better than the ones before. Probably a 3,5 (rounded down because of length)
