This is the only kind of rejected mate story I would/will ever read, this was freakin perfect and exactly what I needed after an almost two week reading slump.

I really enjoyed this novella! Lillian Lark absolutely NEVER leads me astray. I love her work so much 💖

In the case of this novella, I see why some readers were put off by Jack's self-loathing, but I didn't mind. I think it fit perfectly with the trope of rejected mate. It was a nice change of pace since I tend to read frequently about monsters that are confident. They are never working hard to convince themselves or their love that they're charming as-is. So, I liked that Jack had to work through that.

REGARDLESS. I liked the little build up to Belinda and Jack getting together. I found their interactions so sweet and enjoyable. I liked how tender they were with each other while still having charged energy between them. Speaking of the charged energy, the smut in here definitely delivered. Absolutely no complaints. We got fed and fed well 👌

All in all, can't wait to continue making my way through this series! I've really been liking it 💖
