I read this for my American History of Environmentalism class with the actual author, Dr. Brian Black. It's a really fantastic book (seriously). Even as a native Pennsylvanian this is a history that I never knew about my own home state. It's well worth a read and certainly the history of the oil industry in Pennsylvania is very relevant today as we deal with the modern equivalent - the fracking industry.
