Okay definitely an adult read (a fair few profanities and sexual references,) but quite a funny read - and for me, often quite relatable - about a mom with young kids struggling to care for her family and her own needs after moving across the country away from family and friends.
Though I wish the adult content had been taken down a notch, the writing was engaging and believable, and I found myself laughing, cringing, and heart-aching right alongside Lanie as she struggled to get back on her feet in a new town with three littles and limited finances.
I wouldn't exactly hold up her choices as a hallmark for others to follow... And the portrayal of motherhood was a bit overly bleak. (Yes it's ridiculously hard - but also ridiculously beautiful and oh so worth it too, which didn't always come through loud and clear.)
But Lanie's struggles and decisions make sense - sometimes making you laugh out loud - and you definitely are rooting for her as she tries to navigate parenting, marriage, and her new life in Boston.

An easy read, but fell flat for me. The characters were too superficial and the story was predictable.

This book took me a minute to get into and at first I was really not happy with the “mom has let go of herself and hates her body” trope, but maybe that’s because I found it too honest. It’s still a bit stereotypical, but I appreciate a romance that’s about a husband and wife with children in the picture. As a photographer myself I loved that aspect and the MC’s artistic vision.

I simply loved this book and it might be my favorite so far this year! All women are beautiful regardless of what you look like and the softness and differences of our bodies make us special. I definitely recommend this book and give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
