It's okay

It's okay. Not an amazing story and there are some typos / awkward sentences but it's not horrible. It was kind of interesting.

Flatline the female lead

First off, the female lead (January) is SO unlikable that I wished the Guardians would've left her in the bar trying to pick up men. I'm glad the author didn't spend hours on her weight like other BBW authors do, however, her attitude is so nasty that I wouldn't care about her 'importance' and just leave her. The males in this book are typical, nothing super special about them.

This would have gotten more stars if it wasn't one of those micro series that are so popular right now. I wish that i could just read the whole story in one sitting instead of at 60-70 pages at a time at $3 a pop. I don't like to pay that much for most full length books (300-400 pages) let alone one that is only 60 pages. While i didn't mind the premise of the book it just irritates me that i can't read the whole story at the same time.

A short but sweet beginning to a series

As much as I love to read about the werewolves, this is a short introduction to a series of six novels. In this book we are introduced to Beck, Cross and January who is in the middle of her heat cycle. There is an underlying hint that her roommate Prince could be dabbling in something dangerous but it is explained more in the next book. It's worth reading the rest of the series.

I like this different take on the werewolf genre. I like how the wolves actually serve a purpose, and the fact that their existence is not a secret. But of course there are humans who don't like them, or who are afraid of them and want them dead.
This being a part of a serial, there is definitely a cliffhanger ending, and this is really just an intro to some of the different things that will take place throughout the story.
I like the fact that Beck's pack is actually a pack of alphas and he is the Alpha of the alphas. That alone is very different from most werewolf stories I've read. The fact that January is fighting her nature and the reasoning behind it makes for a very interesting story as well. Especially since most werewolf PNR have the wolves pairing up with human females.
Overall, Part one was a fun read with plenty of action both in and... well actually, ALL out of the bedroom lol. Now on to part two and what January does with the bit of information that Beck gave her at the end of part one.

The writing was terrible, the characters had no substance, the transitions were garbage.

I had higher hopes for this, but it fell short.

We jump right into the story and plot and a lot of things were confusing, like the realms and what the werewolves actually did. It seems like there was a lot that COULD have happened, but the sex just got in the way and took over the plot line. Meh.
