Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine are back in another thriller. This one is set in England and involves the Voynich Manuscript, drones and falcons. Very exciting and easy read.

This is an interesting novel about the Voynich manuscript. I don't know much about the manuscript. This really wasn't for me. It really all goes down in 4 days. Important people die, and the investigators need to figure out who and why before the president travels to London.
It talks about the descendants of Dracula and how they can cure a generational disease found in one of the twins.

I loved it!!! This is one of my favorite book series and each book is just as good as the last. I love how historical and current well known figures are brought into the story. I also enjoy that they based the story on an actual written document that is surrounded by the same mystery of being written in a unknown language or code. I very much enjoy that there is a supernatural element to the book that not only gives a new story for Vlad Dracul but a new story for the origins of the Voynich Manuscript.

The Sixth Day by Catherine Coulter and J. T. Ellison

Nicholas Drummond and Michaela “Mike” Caine are at his London estate for brief vacation. When a high-ranking political figure dies mysteriously, they are charged with the investigation. Meanwhile, there is a soon-to-be-connected mystery regarding the historical Voynich Manuscript. Dr. Isabella Marin becomes embroiled as she is an expert at the twin language associated with the Manuscript. At the bottom of all of this, is Roman Arderlean, wealthy cyber-security genius, who has a very ill twin brother. He is hoping that the secrets of this Manuscript will cure his twin.

Roman is also creating an army of drones, and he is hell-bent on using those drones to achieve whatever purpose he sets out. Anyone that will get in the way of this goal is collateral damage. This includes Nicholas and Mike, as their investigation proves fruitful from the start.

In this thrilling story, quite a bit of lore is interjected. For starters, Roman is a descendent of Romanian Vlad the Impaler, know as Count Dracula. Also, Roman is a falconer, one who artfully trains falcons. Add this to his work with drones and he is more than lethal.

This story hits the ground running, and hardly leaves you with a moment to catch your breath. I love the twists and turns that this fifth entry in A Brit in the FBI series has taken.

So I have read all of this series and this one was my lest favorite one-needed alot more Nicholas and Mike action. The blood stuff was a little much, but when Nicholas and Mike were doing their thing it was great.

It was rollicking adventure story. Drummond and Caine are great and the rest of characters are fun too. Looking forward to the next book.

A very entertaining tale. Very "James Bond-esque". If you can enjoy a good old fashioned story of espionage with a modern twist, this is a thrilling book (try not to dwell on the fact that the heroes here seem to have about nine hundred lives and always seem to walk away grinning). The characters in this saga are either clearly good guys or very, very bad guys. There are no shades of grey. I enjoyed the book for it's larger than life, never a dull minute excitement. It was a lot of fun to read. But it is not a book I would choose if I were looking for a down to earth, soothing tale. This is a book filled with adrenaline. I would highly recommend it for those who enjoy thrillers.

What a fascinating combination of elements went into this latest case for the Covert Eyes group...a rare manuscript, a major malware attack, an army of drones, smuggled weapons, high profile murders, a presidential visit to London, trained falcons, and legends about Dracula! Luckily, half the team is already in London when things start to go sideways. Nicholas and Mike are visiting his family, and Ben is vacationing with Melinda St. Germaine, the beautiful member of Parliament he met during the last investigation. The FBI teams up with MI5, MI6, and Scotland Yard to track down the person or group responsible for the malware, while also trying to find the killer who is targeting important industrialists and government figures.

Each of the team members show their strengths: Nicholas and Adam work on the software, Mike investigates and does amazing things with her Glock, and Ben works with Harry Drummond and the Security Services to keep the efforts coordinated. Readers can see Adam maturing as an agent and as part of the team, and watch the personal relationship continue to deepen between Nicholas and Mike. There are high speed chases, old legends, synchronized drone bombardments, and elaborate double-crosses. The more the team uncovers, the less sense any of it makes - and the president refuses to postpone his visit. How can they ever untangle all the leads in time?

This series continues to deliver fast-paced action, humor to break the tension, intricate plots, and the sizzling attraction between the team's leaders. Highly recommended for fans of suspense thrillers.

I read an e-book provided by the publisher through NetGalley.

The book opens in the 1400s during a battle with Vlad Dracul. We find out that his twin half-brothers have some book with magic powers and he sends them away during the battle that takes his live in order to save the book.
Now present day, there is another set of twins who are about to sell an army of drones to the highest bidder. Then we jump to Nick and Michaela who are on vacation in London. Nick is supposed to help his grandfather solve a problem with ransomware that has taken over his company but then they get pulled in to this bigger mystery. And it's possible that the book we read about in the beginning is going to play a part.
I think I'm going to have to stop reading this series. It just keeps feeling more and more disjointed. There were so many things going on in this book, Ellison and Coulter had a hard time weaving it all together.
