I liked this way more than I anticipated. I think there’s a lot more going on than just the stories. I think i’ll have to read it again

It took me three years to finish this book. Personally, I really didn't like it because of the graphic descriptions in it. There was not one likeable character which actually kind of made some (VERY FEW) parts okay to read. Although i think its just to justify the characters choices.  I was going to give it two stars but that felt a little bit generous. Others might be okay with really graphic depictions of violence but It just was not for me.

Two words I would use to describe The Devil All The Time are grimy and fetid. You can smell the characters, and they stink. You can feel their oily sweat sliding down your forehead. I think my reading experience was robbed by the fact that I already knew everything that was going to happen. I’m not sorry I saw the movie first, though. It was REALLY good.
