This was adorable and I am obsessed. Will update if I use as a read aloud to see how it goes? There's some audience interaction bits that could be a lot of fun. (Not sure how my very bad French-esque accent will go over)

The charming snail Escargot is back, this time on a trip to the library to find a cookbook and try a new recipe. Just as in the first book, Escargot's strong voice and indomitable spirit will charm young readers. Try not to pay attention to him defacing library books. Hand to fans of the first or to readers new to Escargot; everyone will want to meet this confident, adorable snail.

I love Escargot! He has such a strong voice for a picture book character-- I can't help but read the whole thing in a French accent. Magnifique! So fun!

I don’t usually give star ratings to children's books but this one was very very cute and sweet with the ability to talk about bigger themes with your kids as they get older.

Follows the pattern of the first book a little too closely.

Escargot a French snail is on the hunt for the perfect cookbook. A French cookbook to be exact. He wants to learn how to cook green beans and French fries. After an adventure through the library he finally finds a French cookbook but what is that he sees... a recipe for ESCARGOT!

Between the beautiful writing and pictures Escargot becomes a real and very sweet character. With the realization that he is dinner you want to protect him. But don’t worry Escargot figures out how to keep safe.

This is a fun story for children read-a-louds and would make a great gift.
