This novella was great! Sizzy is breaking my heart, though. All of the stories about Tobias Herondale were really interesting and I really want to know more about him. George is easily becoming one of my favorite characters in these novellas. He's just adorable.

Mi sensación es que apenas ha pasado nada. Sigo sin coger a este "nuevo" Simon que no quiere saber nada del anterior. La visita de Clary y el extracto de Lady Midnight lo mejor sin duda.

This was actually really bad. Like, 1.5 stars bad. I'm sorry, I usually enjoy Cassandra Clare's books even if I am a bit critical, but I could not enjoy this. It has all the worst bits of her world building (like the plethora of completely nonsense shadowhunter laws that aren't even just wrong, they make no sense, and not even in an outmoded or racist way. Just in a way that no halfway logical person could come up with or enforce),all the worst bits of character actions (really, Catarina? You could make it look like the woman was pregnant so you could spirit her child away after inducing labor, but you couldn't get the woman herself out? You don't even try? That has some weird and squicky tones of the worst of the pro-life arguments), and all the worst bits of character motivations ("it was one of my proudest moments" says the woman saying she hated all shadowhunters and wouldn't mind them dying after she spirited away a child shadowhunter so he could have a happy life somewhere). Furthermore, it had all of the relentless drama I have come to expect without anything behind it. IT'S SO SAD, Simon's narration assures us, despite never telling us why he in particular finds it sad.

I'm currently binge-reading these tales and I liked this one even more than the first. I'm so excited to read the other ones and after that finally Lady Midnight (which arrived today! <3).

Well. That was... Short. Brief. Un...exciting. I get that Simon is having a lot of inner conflict. And I liked some of the advice he got- that at least he knows that he has the potential to be a hero, because in an alternate life or universe or what-have-you, he was. That's a whole lot more than any of the other students have. And I understand why he's having issues with the Law-- it's the same stuff we've seen in all the other books, and if any one character would be sensitive to the unfairness of it all, I should think it would be Simon.

But the humor is still lacking, and seeing as it's SIMON, you'd think there'd be more entertaining banter or something, but he's having too much of an existential crisis to be entertaining. It just felt like not much happened. Also, I totally think George is one of the lost Herondales. Just, FYI.

Here's hoping the upcoming installments have more excitement to them... And are less depressing.

Loved this way more than the first installment! It may have to do with my love of Herondales and my favourite Cassandra Clare character ever making an appearance.

Also LADY MIDNIGHT TEASER! I had no clue we were getting this. I screamed and I loved it so much. I need that book now! I can not wait another year! Emma and Jules chemistry was so adorable. I can't wait to read about them.

Oh, Herondales, Herondales.
Lovely...
