The start was slow for me but wow, once it started I finished in a day. The timeline jumps were my biggest complaint. I would’ve absolutely LOVED to read more of Monday’s journal entries. The few at the end had me in tears. I think it would’ve been lovely to hear more of her side. Really enjoyed this book.

*LOTS OF TRIGGER WARNINGS TO CHECK BEFORE READING IF NECESSARY.*

This book had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t sleep after reading it. Definitely not for the light of heart and you should check the trigger warnings. I loved it so much, but I don’t know if I’ll be rereading it soon because it was not a light read in terms of content.

I couldn’t stop reading. Tiffany D Jackson is so fantastic. The parallels of horror to child abuse and missing children is really impactful. I hope young adults see what she’s saying and this book changes them how it changed me. Fantastic book that everyone should read if they’re in the mood for a tough ya mystery/horror.

A story that needs to be told & heard, unfortunately. Too often children in the black community are abused and go missing and no one cares. Because if it doesn’t affect you, your kids, kids that look like you or your community you just don’t care. Everybody failed Monday, Tuesday, April & August. Even the Charles family. I do not doubt that the Charles’ loved Monday and her siblings but they were very standoffish in how they handled things. Then the guilt tore them up. Everybody tried to make Claudia seem crazy or want her to forget Monday and just move on but that was her friend. Her only friend. And when that’s all you feel like you have would you want to lose it, let it go or act like the person and your relationship didn’t exist. Often times we hear adults say kids are resilient and they get over things easier than adults but that’s a lie. A misconception. Because how do you get over a lost love, a loss of friendship & companionship? You don’t get over that easily. And everybody that told Claudia she should was wrong. I loved Michael. I loved Claudia’s dedication to her friend. I understand April saw & went through a lot but I didn’t care for her and how she treated Claudia. Didn’t like Patty at all! And don’t get me started on the kids at school. Jacob, Trevor, Carl, Shayla & Ashley could all get the paws put on them. They were faker than a $3 bill. Kids are cruel!
