I’m going to need at least 3-5 business years to recover from this book.

I couldn’t breathe during some of the chapters because I was sobbing far too much.

This book really hit very close to home for me in multiple different ways and I think that’s why it affected me as much as it did but my goodness… I’m speechless.

this book had me EMOTIONAL. the first 40 pages, i was crying. the last 40 pages, i was SOBBING, like getting the pages wet from my tears.
if i'm being so for real though, aside from the heartbreaking tragedy, i found the love story itself to be…not that interesting? it was giving insta-love which isn’t one of my favorite tropes. maybe i didn’t relate to ella or beckett but they were just kinda boring and maybe a little cringey.
the familial relationships and found family moments were 5/5, but the love story was like 2/5, hence my rating.
if you want a book to make you cry, i recommend. if you want a compelling romance, i’d suggest something else.

"Ha. Because from the moment I saw your face and heard you speak, you were the only one I wanted." -Beckett

This book depicts grief in such a way that will leave you with tears rolling down your face but continuing to read the pages and having the need to read more. There is love and loss and hope and despair in almost every chapter.

Ella and Beckett were the perfect pair and Ryan just knew they were what each other needed. I couldn't get enough of their love for each other and their need to keep each other. Love this little family and I am thankful that Colt and Maisie finally got to have a dad.

I had high hopes for this book. It started so well, then progressively went down hill. I found the main characters to be somewhat draining and repetitive. When the book finally picks up after
Maisie's recovery
, I thought we're finally getting on track. Nope. Then
Colton dies
. Unsure why this was necessary for the storyline? Then Ella's grief reaction feels inadequate considering the extent of her loss. Do not read if you're hoping for a nice, happy ending.
