If you’re looking for a spicy book, this is it. If you want detailed characters with a good plot line, good world building, and a solid story, this is not for you. There are more spicy scenes than major plot points. All details focus on these scenes, and definitely not on other plot points. The main female character is quite annoying. Tropes include insta love and pregnancy, both of which I’m not a fan of. A big issue with the world was it seemed like it was set in a fantasy fictional world, then American cities were being mentioned with modern day technology suddenly being introduced halfway through.

This book was okay! I read it as a part of a book club (S/O to Big Book Energy, HELLO). The smut was really intense, but not in an "omg I need to skip this part" way. It was good - the only downfall of this book was the plot was very lacking. I know Katee Robert writes mainly smut but even her other book Neon Gods (which I loved) had a decent amount of plot. This book however let me down. I felt as though all I was reading were sex scenes and literally nothing else.

Tropes: ▪ Fantasy ▪ Enemies to Lovers ▪ Forced Proximity ▪ Obsessed MMC ▪ Reverse Harem ▪

I really enjoyed this book. Since getting back into reading I've only read one other fantasy book; I used to read fantasy books all the time as a teenager, although now they're x-rated!

If you're into spice this book is for you! It gets very hot, very quick. I did like that it's now all In one book, rather than the three it was before; I do feel like the beginning of book 2 & 3 could have been edited a little as it almost recapped what had just happened, which now that its one book, isn't necessary.

Overall I really liked it!

Court of the Vampire Queen is the re-release of three previous novellas all combined into one almost 500 page novel.

From start to finish, this book propels you into this intricate vampirical world, with their ancient bloodlines and their magical abilities. Mina, a young half-vampire, half-human is gifted (by her villainous father) to a powerful bloodline vampire named Malachi… and subsequently two fellow vampires… they become a packaged deal if you will.

This is non stop sex, but there is a plot as well. I enjoyed the bond between these four. It was quick, but deep. Upon learning that Mina is maybe more than who she always thought she was, they wonder if they can finally overthrow her tyrannical father.
