The hyperfocus on mental toughness, through physical toughness, left a lot of gaps in the story for me. What happened in failed relationships, what about fatherhood? None of these were addressed and it felt incomplete and sad in that way.

Can't Hurt Me provides some excellent tips and tricks to help readers tackle challenges head-on. Goggins' personal stories and accomplishments are truly inspiring. However, it's important to note that his methods may not be applicable to everyone.

In this book Goggins shares his own experiences, providing an authentic account of his journey. His determination and resilience shine through, making it easy to connect with his story. However, the overall delivery lacked finesse. I found myself wanting more engagement and better flow throughout the narrative.

The book primarily focuses on Goggins' athletic challenges, which may not resonate with all readers. While his extreme methods worked for him, they may not be practical for everyone. I appreciate his emphasis on pushing beyond limits, but it's essential to remember the importance of balance and self-care. Not everyone has the luxury of time to recover from such intense challenges.

Despite these shortcomings, Can't Hurt Me still manages to engage and leave an impact. Goggins' story and practical advice can be valuable for those seeking motivation and looking to overcome obstacles. It provides valuable insights and excellent tips, but the book's narrow focus on extreme athleticism may limit its relevance to a broader audience.

All I can say is wow. —Just…wow. I originally heard of this book when I saw the YouTuber James Shultz recommended it in his video “Why I Work so Hard”. One thing that he said was that he doesn’t rely on motivation to complete his goals in life, he relies on drive. Then he recommended this book, which completely fucked up my universe. David Goggins explained the concept of what it means to have drive and master your mind perfectly. I think what makes this different from other self help books is that he shared his raw, deeply personal story and opened up about his struggles despite his achievements. I also appreciate how throughout the book he was honest about the times he felt doubt and insecurity. David Goggins taught me that having drive is not easy, and it’s not meant to be comfortable. To callous your mind is a never ending journey that will never happen if you’re addicted to comfort. You want to breakthrough the boundaries and reach new feats you could’ve never imagined? Embrace the pain, and embrace the chaos that comes with drive.

Didn't like how much he was literally abusing his body to get his goals, but could be seen as a very motivational book
