After being thrust into lots of big life changes out of the blue, my brother handed me a copy of this book and said it would help change my perspective on not only my situation, but the future as well. He gave me a brief run down of David Goggins being ex-miltary and someone who constantly pushes himself with challenges that would be described as insane by many people.

I started reading and instantly became captivated. This is a man who has seen, and been subjected to some horrible things and kept fighting; refusing to view himself as a victim. Each chapter focuses on a different part of his life and his careers. They all end with a challenge that the reader can take away from what they've read in order to better themselves. I really liked that balance of "here's what I did, now here's how you can do it too."

He talks a lot about how humans seek out comfort and surround ourselves with likeminded people to the point where we're not challenging ourselves and the steps that need to be taken in order to break that cycle.
