i shouldn't have read this so close to reading We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix. That was a more enjoyable version of this for me

There's a book I read last year. It's called Tender in the Flesh. I read two words"legal cannibalism" and I just HAD to read that book. Long story short, the execution was bad. Legal cannibalism had a great deal of potential, just like "weaponized music." Unsurprisingly, Your Favorite Band Cannot Save you has the same problem: bad execution.
Everything about this novella was perfect except that it was a novella. It should have been a full length novel. More developed characters. Personal individualities. Strong bonds. I felt attached to zero (0) characters solely because we didn't have any time. Action was shoved my way, thrown in my face. I have no idea what was Moore so frantic about that he just had to fill a hundred and twenty pages and call it quits.

Graphic: Gore, Suicide, Blood, and Murder
Moderate: Violence
