I had read ''The body in the library'' by Agatha Christie when I was young and I can say that I am disappointed by those stories. It didn't reach the expectations I had for her from back then.

Three Blind Mice 2.5/5 A mystery that could go into more depth but it didn't and it was left in a very superficial level.

The lamb 2/5 Not a mystery. A very short story that I guess she wanted to play it out as a spooky fairytale. Yeah it didn't work out for me.

The Last Seance 2.5/5  This story had potential since as far as I remember Agatha Christie wasn't a fan of those who claimed to be mediums, but in here we are left to believe that something like this exist. The way it ended I would say that the moral of the story was that women should trust their instincts and that greedy people don't care about the lives of others, if they are to achieve their goal? idk

Next to a Dog 3/5 I liked this story, it's a story about grief at least it seemed like that to me and it had a happy ending if you could call it that!

A random set of short stories, but it's always a pleasure to read Agatha Christie. I hadn't read The Mousetrap/Three Blind Mice in a long time.

Perfect series of short Agatha Christie mysteries to read before bed! She delivers the tales with such balanced narrative precision you simply cannot believe some of these intense mysteries are only 10 pages long!

A fun book of murder mystery short stories! In particular I enjoyed Three Blind Mice and Four and Twenty Blackbirds.

Three Blind Mice is the feature story within this book of short stories of murder and mayhem.

In Three Blind Mice, a group of people are snowed in with a psychopath, yet they are unaware. Brand-new guesthouse owners, Molly and Giles, welcome their first guests just as a major snowstorm hits the village. The phone lines go out, a stranded stranger shows up at the door, the police come calling about a dead body in London, and almost everyone finds themselves humming the tune "three blind mice" but nobody knows exactly why.

Other stories in the book feature the famous Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot, as well as the mysterious Mr. Quin and his friend, Mr. Satterthwaite, who I quite enjoy. Two of the Poirot shorts, The Third Floor Flat and The Adventure of Johnny Waverly, were very familiar. I think I have either read them before or maybe they were episodes on the ITV series Agatha Christie's Poirot. I didn't love the Marple shorts, I had a really hard time getting interested in and sticking with them. I noticed one edition of this book puts it in the Marple series as book 2.2 (whatever that means) so perhaps I had a hard time being interested in these particular Marple's because she was still being fleshed out by Christie? *shrug*

Despite not totally jiving with the Marple shorts, this book of shorts just provided further evidence that Agatha Christie IS the Queen.
