Super cute and funny. Love that the FMC is 30+ and not your typical FMC.

Something a bit different in the fantasy genre. Love a female main character over the age of 18. An actual adult who has lived a life and isn't the magical chosen one. She's just a regular gal in a wacky situation. The male MC is a lot of fun, as are the supporting characters. With quests and side quests and a sense of self awareness, it's fun, silly and heartwarming. And best of all, it's a standalone novel (not part of a series). A true rarity in the fantasy genre!

The middle section was a bit slow but beginning and end was good. Trope of grumpy and sunshine will also win.

As usual, fabulous characters, solid worldbuilding, and a compelling plot - T Kingfisher sets a very bar with every book! Halla’s ability to navigate the world using common (mis)perceptions of women was laid out so well. I was only surprised to have the bit of mystery at the end. It’s not a cliffhanger, but there is a thread left hanging, and I hope that we get the next book soon.
