I went into this book at a pretty dark time in my life - I'd lost my beloved father a week earlier, and so I was on the prowl for a light and fluffy book, and who does that better than Sophie Kinsella, right?
Except...this book wasn't light and fluffy at all. And a big deal in there is how the heroine is dealing with the loss of her father whom she'd adored, too. Wow, talk of hitting close to home. I was very tempted because of that, because of my grief, to drop this book, but something kept me reading. And am I glad I did ... because that was one of the best books I've ever read. Yes, it's not fluffy and light and girly; it's serious, it deals with flaws, nobody's perfect in there, and the way this all comes to light, when it would all come to light, kept me glued to the pages. Trust me, you do not see that last part coming!
Sophie Kinsella blew me away with this one!

Kinsella, I would like to formally thank you for getting me through the various nightmare situations I have found myself in at present. Mwah. Hugs, kisses, all the kindnesses to you. Your writing is so so consistent, and I NEED that constancy rn. Bless you. Wonderful. I wish I could eat these words.

The premise doesn’t match the events in the book. Someone as devoted as Dan clearly is wouldn’t be freaking out over 68 remaining years with a women he clearly adores....it was an okay read. Not the authors best but still enjoyable

Another really enjoyable Sophie Kinsella book. I liked that this involved a married couple as there was a lot that I could relate to. Sylvie was a really cute character and I loved the journey she went on during the book. Fab!

After ten years of marriage, a trip to the doctor has sent Sylvie and Dan into a panic when they find out they could potentially be married for another 68 years. Upon hearing this, the couple devise a plan to keep their relationship fresh, and call it Project Surprise Me. They decide to surprise each other in little ways. Soon, the project is in full swing, and they start to realize they might not know each other as well as they originally thought. It was refreshing to read a romance novel about a couple who has already established their relationship.

Thanks to Netgalley for a review copy of this book.

I don't think the book was bad it's just not for me. I didn't feel engaged with the characters I found the most interesting dynamics the art house but that was a side story. None of it felt really developed.
