Listening to the audiobook is definitely the way to go here. While written as a historical telling, listening to it felt like gossiping with their narrator about all of the kings landing tea which is probably the only way I would’ve gotten through this book because if I, myself, had to read list after list after list of senseless names I would’ve given up very quickly.

the targaryen family drama is better than any real housewives show i’ve ever seen. shit goes down in this book. id recommend the audiobook instead purely because this book is so dense and reads like a history textbook. but overall i was pretty engaged considering the way this book was written, and i enjoyed it a lot more than i thought i would!
