A sweet story and nice to see genuine sci-fi romances. A short novella where our two heroes are thrown together by the bad guys. So the story line is very predictable but still a lovely read.

Bridal Jitters was pretty good. The romance was decent, but I think I liked the world the best. That being said, I was a tad confused about things.

All of the bad things in the book can be explained by the book being a novella. It needed more length to give the story substance.

Virginia, a tangler, and Sam, a hunter, are about to enter into a Marriage of Convenience. For business reasons. At least, that's what they assure each other. But an unexpected night in the catacombs during their first project together leads to more than either expected.
The first book set on the fictional planet known as Harmony does a good job setting up world building and letting you know how that world compares to ours. A good first outing for a new series.

An introduction to the world of Harmony, where being a ghost-hunter or a psychic archaeologist is not uncommon and neither are marriages of convenience.

Our main couple are about to enter such a marriage, where they merge their businesses and work together for two years and then go their separate ways. Secretly, neither of them actually want this but they think the other one does and in this story we see how they overcome this misunderstanding.

An interesting world and pleasant writing style that I wouldn't mind exploring further, starting with the first book after this prequel, [b:After Dark|331005|After Dark (Harmony, #1)|Jayne Castle|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1360571539s/331005.jpg|321578].

I really liked the description of the environment in which the characters lived. I hope readers get more of that in future books.

If you are a fan of Supernatural than this may be the book for you. You have two different professionals in the ghost business that are attracted to one another but neither is willing to admit it to the other one. The solution a marriage of convenience that will not only bring their businesses together but legally bind them together for at least two years. Throw in a life or death situation and it makes for an interesting read.

I read this quick 100+ page novel withing hours of getting my borrow from the library.
It literally starts off with a marriage of convenience trope! and yes to a landlord!

In order for the MC, Virginia Burch to save her business proposes a marriage of convenience to her land lord, Sam Gage, which in turns allows Sam to keep his home due to some law but she starts to get cold feet and without her realizing it, Sam actually has true feelings for her. One thing leads to another and their marriage becomes a business deal, which leads them into trouble and both of them find themselves trying to keep their heads above water.

Overall this was a lot of fun and a quick read and introduces you to the world of Harmony, which she's written about in at least 10 other books. Based on my sister's response who went ahead and started reading the others, the series is equally fun.

I originally read this more then a decade ago when I was looking for more scifi-rom (having read through all of Linnea Sinclair's stuff). It introduced me to Harmony and boy am I forever grateful.

Objectively speaking this is heavy on exposition (which from what I remember the rules that govern Harmony are oft repeated in the books), built around a strong lack of communication and an off screen villain mastermind (and an on screen two bit thug). Nostalgia paints the fact I enjoyed this, though Virginia and Sam were interesting enough.

Bonus points for the mention of Mercer Wyatt being basically a gangster, you're not wrong Virginia.

I recommend this if you want a taste of the world - its more paranormal (despite the alien catacombs and alien ghosts and alien world) then scifi, but an enjoyable world to dip in and out of.
