A great continuation of Charles & Anna's story from Cry Wolf - and I think I'm almost starting to prefer their relationship to Mercy & Adam's, which is saying something! The way their relationship is developing and progressing through each other's trauma is really well written, and is how every slow-burn romance should be, going against every ham-fisted 'fated mates' trope. The way they navigate each others' hesitancies & emotional walls is lovely.
Gushing about Anna & Charles aside, the plot & pacing of this book is great. A great mix of other supernatural characters are introduced and create just enough friction, tension, and suspense. There is nothing superfluous in this story - top notch Urban Fantasy!
