It took me a few pages to get into the book but about half way I really started loving it and breezed through the remaining pages!

Very harsh and crude at the beginning and felt good at the end. Deals with sensitive topics and it is very harsh the way in which they are narrated (usually 1st person) but these are topics that should be addressed and the way this book approaches it makes you sad for the main character and understand better her struggles.

Really lovely story but I found the narrator voice quite difficult to read at times.

You would think with how much I loved the first movie that I would have read this book already.
I recently watched the remake and said I need to go and read the book.

What they say is very true… minus the musical part the second movie is a lot more like the book. Some things missing, however, that’s expected.

Such a great book tbh! I am happy that I took the time to read it.
