This book reminds me of a Hallmark movie! I enjoyed the plot, it’s was something different and fresh for me. I agree with others when they said it felt wordy at times. Wasn’t a huge fan of the heroine’s back and forth I love you but my pride is getting in my way things. Still, great light ready especially for the Christmas season!

Christmas just wouldn’t be complete without a trip back to Twilight, Texas and a chance to see who’ll fall prey to the magic of the Matchmaker Cookies. As always, Lori Wilde delivered a sweet and touching yet flirty romance full of down home charm and lovely sentiments.

I somehow forget exactly how much I enjoy Lori Wilde’s romances and how often they make me smile until I pick a new one up and get totally swept away again. Cash and Paige’s story was definitely a fun one, kind of an opposites attract theme with him being an attention-loving country musician and her a rather private person. Read More

Cover: 2/5 (It's okay/meh) Not really anything to say about it. It's just there.

Story: 3/5 stars. Trying out the CAWPILE way of reviewing introduced to me by Book Roast.
Characters: 6
Atmosphere: 8
Writing Style: 6
Plot: 5
Intrigue/Interest: 6
Logic: 7
Enjoyment: 4

Total Score: 6 -- converts to a 3 star review, which sounds about right.

So this story was easy enough to read, but I didn't love it by the time I was done. It was insta love and trope-y, but that doesn't usually bother me. I can't even pinpoint what it is, I just didn't mesh with this book. I found the angst factor to be a bit overwhelming. I did like the main character, Cash, but was just blah about his female lead, Paige. I have not read the other books from this Twilight, Texas companion series, but I could see that there were a lot of cameos from other book characters. I'm not sure if I would like her other books, but I may try one if I see it. It landed in my "what the f*ck" shelf because the sex scenes in this book were written weird. And not even in a fun way. haha

Not only does this book seem to have the absolute worst case of insta love I've ever witnessed, it's also full of unnecessary metaphors and bland characters. I gave this a shot because the plot sounded interesting enough even if I thought from the title it wouldn't be for me. Sometimes it's better to judge a book by its title it seems.

This was a light, fun read that was just what I needed at the moment. I was a little disappointed with the trope of the girl in crisis who just can't stop herself from helping everyone around her and can't accept help herself. But what is a romance novel but an exploration of tropes? It was joyful enough that I might check out the other Twilight, Texas books!

Donning a sexy Santa Baby costume to work at her friend's local theater as an usher isn't exactly one of the proudest moments of Paige MacGregor's life, but after a bad relationship left her identity compromised and her money gone, at least she has a job!

Making ends meet and trying to save up money to pay for the lawyer she needs to regain her identity is all Paige wants for Christmas. And Santa, baby please, she definitely doesn't need another smooth talking man to come into her life.

But when Cash Colton, recently single and returned from a soul-searching journey in South America, runs into the cute Santa he is immediately inspired. Thinking he's finally found his muse after all these years, Cash pursues Paige despite his own fears of love and commitment.

Featuring houseboats, a cute (and surprisingly snowy) Texas town, and a cast of lovable characters, this is just steamy enough for a cheery holiday read.

Thank you to Avon for providing a free copy for a fair review!

This was my first Lori Wilde and I wasn't the hugest fan of some of the sexy times descriptions. Apparently if the hero is a musician we can only have musical similes and metaphors to describe the loving, and they made me laugh which took me out of the moment. Other than that, I super enjoyed the book!
