It's a good book in ways that you feel the way witch hunting went in 1600 and how strict religion was without making the book something of sensation.

Easy to read, even for children as there is no direct violence in it. However i wonder if they will grasp the physiological terror described in the book.

I read this for school and at first I was spectacle about it but I actually enjoyed it. The way Rees has used diary form made the connection between character and reader even greater.

Quick and not easy, this book following a girl from England where her grandmother is burnt as a witch to Salem where she may not be safe is a great introduction to some of the more tragic aspects of the witch trials.
