I think I’ve found my new favorite author. My first introduction to CJ Cooke was her newest book, The Lighthouse Witches, and I loved it. I knew I needed to read more of her books and The Nesting did not disappoint. Another 5 star read for me and with that CJ Cooke has made it onto my list of must read authors.
I loved the setting, the Norwegian Folklore sprinkled throughout, and the supernatural aspects of the book. I love how she portrays mothers and those in care of small children; she really illustrates how beautiful and precious that relationship is and how strong that kind of love is.
An excellent book for those that love domestic thrillers with some gothic horror/supernatural aspects thrown in.
