As with the seven TV seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the story gets better as you get closer to the end. I certainly liked the first six graphic novels of season 8, but the final two installments were by far the best.

Revisiting a more 'traditional' BTVS storyline (especially when it involves sexual tension between your two favourite vampire men) makes reading season 8 a lot more enjoyable. I am, however, a little choked by the fact that the cover reveals basically everything about season 8 that matters. Le sigh.

As long as there is BTVS, I will watch or read.

How do I explain this volume? I was sort of surprised when Twilight was revealed. And then disappointed that, once again, true Nirvana for Buffy comes down to sex with Angel. Which we get to see in comical detail for pages and pages and pages of this volume--lots of Angel and Buffy having sex while flying and shooting into outer space and stuff. I definitely could have done without most of it. Not to mention that I'm a steadfast Spike fan, so I've never been that excited about the idea of Angel being Buffy's soulmate. I did like the decision that Buffy makes at the end of the volume though
Spoilerto go back and ditch her new perfect universe
. It seemed very in line with her character.

Buffy learns to fly, which is quite cool. Twilight kidnaps Giles, which is not.

The main problem I have with the Buffy season 8 graphic novels/comic books is that there are too many characters with too little time to get to know them. That is a consequence of the whole 'army of Slayers' thing, but it does make it hard to get invested in the 'new' characters.

Mmmm OK, I'm going along with it, let's see where it ends.
Angel was my favorite show honestly, I don't understand this Angel, but try to think of this as a separate thing from the TV Show, it is the only way

I had a hard time getting into the story but I do appreciate the continuation of the characters and their personalities. Because this story picked up right when the series ended (and I have no idea when I watched that last episode) it was a little uneven for me. But it was nice to get back into the Buffyverse.
