It was good, but seeing the love between Leah and Crowley take root so easily and quickly took a lot of the enjoyment out of this book.

Lulu's Cafe was a very enjoyable read. Leah Allen (aka Gabriella Sadler) was raised in foster homes. When she was about 19, she met a man who swept her off her feet and quickly married him. It turned out to be a marriage into a life of domestic violence. (My sister said she stayed with her abusive, alcoholic husband as long as she did because he made her feel like everything was her fault. He put her on a guilt trip. I didn't live near her and had no idea what she was going through until after she left him.) Leah tried to hide the evidence of the relationship. I don't want to spoil anything so I will just say this book was an emotional roller coaster ride. I recommend this book.

This is my second time reading 'Lulu's Cafe'. Leah has gone through so much in her life, to the point she has given up. She rans away from her abusive husband, Brent and lands herself in Rivertown, a small and loving town that Leah soon becomes to love as her own.
There many meaningful messages throughout the book that I resonated with. However, I felt for Leah as she struggles to fight her nightmares and trust the people of Rivertown, especially those who are closet to her, Lulu, Ana and Crowley. But each of these people play a signifcant role in her life, telling Leah about the importance of fighting each obstacles she faces and eventually she does.
I liked how Crawley was there for Leah during the second half, and shows Leah her humorous, kind hearted and gentlemen side and that not every man will always be like Brent, that there are still good men out there like Crawley.
Overall I give it a 3 star rating because I believe this book had more potential.

Very fast and easy read! Was very predictable but still good. Read in two sittings.
