Not quite sure what I expected here. I loved the Pervert also written by Boydell. It had a decent story and I was a huge fan of the artwork. This didn't seem to have any story line that I could grasp and the ending didn't feel like an ending because of it. I still love the style of artwork however, even though I am clearly not it's intended audience.

It's absolutely gorgeous but as others have said it ends very abruptly. I think bits are powerful but the overall impact is mixed... Even recognising a decent amount of stuff as things I grew up there's a lot that's hard to understand about what's going on. We don't get to see that much of how they're thinking and I'm not sure how the mushrooms play into it. But also, again, absolutely gorgeous

bleak, endless loathing. disillusioned early 20-something women wandering washed-out concrete built environments and dirty subway stations. time spent stating at the ceiling waiting for something to change. hands shakily reaching out for comfort left hanging. remy boydell is clearly skilled at cultivating a mood; his characters felt real even with the single slice of their lives he has presented us with here. i only wish that there was more.

grey nostalgia is most likely the best way to describe this relatively short work
I would give it a 4/6 rating, but theres only uptil 5, anyway.

Remy does atmosphere and storytelling through images alone, also it was pretty apparently that there wasnt a second author on this one.

Luckily I feel like the pictures is telling a lot of the story in such a way that its getting a pretty high score for me personally.

oh yeah and I was a scene kid back in the day.

Lovely art, but I found the story a bit meandering and it didn’t feel like it really went anywhere or anything happened.
Though that may have been the intention, I’m not sure. It felt like there should be more.
But I did enjoy the book.
