I so rarely read ya contemporaries that whenever I get the chance to read one it's such a delightful way to take my mind off of the real world and have a good time.
I have to be honest though, in the first few pages I was questioning my choices because the beginning of this book and Choe's inner voice sounded very immature and I immediately thought this book would be very childish and I wouldn't be able to relate to it at all. Thank god I was wrong, of course this book was at least a bit immature but that's completely relevant concidering it's written from a perspective of a fifteen-year-old.
Chloe really surprised me actually and I fell in love with her. She was hilarious, so sarcastic and her inner monologue was sassy and amazing. She was so relatable and her experiences brought me right back to when I was a freshmen. Mac, Hannah, Tris, her mom and dad, all of these characters affected Chloe every day. Some of them were amazing and some not so much.
Mac was a total asshole and Chloe's mom was horrible. Her dad though was amazing and I absolutely adored Tristan. The jury still stands on Hannah but....
I really appreciated how real this book was. It was exactly on point with how a teenager feels during that time of their life, it was humorous and clever but also dealt with deeper more serious situations.
Chloe went through a lot in her first year of high school but she got out and I cannot wait to read more about her, her family, friends and even more so about her love life and all the drama.

My Thoughts
I loved that this was an epistolary novel. Those are definitely some of my favorites. Especially when they are told by a witty, honest, and humorous girl like Chloe. I had a lot of fun flipping the pages of this book. It's a book that I would reread.
I also love that this format lets the reader really get to know Chloe on a deep personal level. It lets the reader enter her life and it just felt like it came to life to me. I love how it's relatable because I, too, was once a teenager. I remember living some of these scenarios that Chloe goes through.
I think that many people would enjoy this book and that it's for many different people. If you like books like Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty, you would like Confessions of a High School Disaster. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more by Emma Chastain!

I hear ya, Chloe. I really do. We have all been there -- all of us who successfully survived our teenage years, that is...
Chloe Snow's Diary is basically the Young Adult version of [b:Bridget Jones's Diary|227443|Bridget Jones's Diary (Bridget Jones, #1)|Helen Fielding|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1558869586l/227443._SY75_.jpg|3185154]. Yes, it's very simple. but it's also relatable, funny, and captivating. Some of Chloe's choices were somewhat annoying; however, isn't that in the job description of all teenagers? Long story short ... I really enjoyed reading this book. If you're looking for something light, give this one a try.
