Don't know why I did not DNF this... there was a massive shift in tone partway through

I was so intrigued by the blurb for this book and I adore this author's words, so it is safe to say I was not disappointed with Blurry. It is raw and passionate that will have you fanning yourself. I am very picky about age gap romance but this one didn’t make it the focal point of the story and I lived for the angst between Alistair and Chiara. That connection that they had was intense to say the least. This story has epic fluidity and perfect character build through it. I really enjoyed this one!

Blurry is a delightfully sexy contemporary romance that dabbles in the forbidden. It is an age-gap, student/teacher, still married(separated) man romance that occurs by accident when the two protagonists meet while the male lead Alistair is holidaying in Tuscany. Chiara then unknowing puts herself in his path when she enrols abroad for her final year of school.
Michelle Hercules has created two beautifully broken characters in Chiara and Alistair who are swept up in an unexpected love of a lifetime, which unfortunately comes at the wrong time. Shaped by their past it is like fate decided for them to meet on that roadside in Tuscany. Hercules has deftly split the book in two sections, between Tuscany and the character's instant connection, and L.A where the reality of life intrudes. Chiara and Alistair's story is a sweet, sexy and heart warming tale about how sometimes you can't the fight attraction as it is the real thing. While these are tropes I normally avoid I was drawn in by the cover and trailer and stayed for the story, which managed to escape all of the pitfalls that these genre can sometimes have. I loved the supporting characters and I look forward to Max's story which was teased at the end of the book.
Blurry was a feel good, forbidden romance that swept you away and I would recommend it to readers who like contemporary romance, age gap, teacher/student, all the heat, angst & drama that is settled by a sweet, swoon-worthy happily ever after.

It’s ok
I like the premise of the story. But the chemistry felt kind of flat for me. Yeah they had a great weekend but then jump to love?

So I thought the smut was good. The story was kind of corny, too much insta love, and a little too melodramatic. But I kept reading because I still liked it.
