Absolutely yummy!

Renee Rose is an expert in flawed characters. Often they are tortured souls with survivor's guilt or empowered ex-victims fighting anxiety. Sometimes they're both. Sometimes they're completely different. What's wonderful is they are so imperfect they are RELATABLE and, though the premise is pure fantasy, a reader can empathize with the characters. I feel this connection with many of Ms Rose's characters but those in "Alpha's Hunger" really drew me in. It had a little bit of that misfits-banding-together vibe that I really love - a reluctant alpha, feeling he doesn't deserve the life that was spared much less the human his wolf craves, a beautiful independent young woman confused by her need & deep desire to be dominated by one man, a low level outcast who is actually quite powerful given his mastery of technology, and a double agent in the FBI. Mix in a kidnapping, a bit of intrigue, a whole lot of passion, and a beautiful HEA and you've got "Alpha's Hunger."

Actually 3. 5 star.

Parts of this book are really good. I like the relationship between Ashley and Ben, once they transition from boss and employee to being a true couple. The sex scenes are hot (and there's a lot of fun, sexy spanking in the book). However, how they get from "she replaced his computer with a bomb to save her kidnapped sister" to "loving couple" is rough (and not in a good way). The book needed a lot more to make that transition seem smooth. But it's still an entertaining read.

Alpha and CEO Ben Stone knows something is different when he finds Ashley Bell curled up by her desk trying to get rid of her migraine. Although Ben is a natural Alpha, he has not taking over the pack once his brother was killed. He is a walking target and although he has stepped into the role of CEO has not won over the company by any means.

Ashley believes Ben's demeanor is what is causing the company to struggle. She realizes quickly he is harboring a lot of guilt over his family and is not too surprised to find out he is a wolf. Acting on her belief Ben is equally attracted to her, she makes a play but every time she does he pushes her farther away. Ben doesn't believe he can hold back where Ashley is concerned and when her twin ends up in trouble he steps in to help but also to see if Ashley has betrayed him.

This story had a lot of layers to it. On the one hand you had a reluctant alpha and the other a wolf who has found his mate. Ashley was adorable and you completely understand why she does what she does. I hope this becomes a series, it easily could.

This book had all the right elements for a good paranormal read but it somehow shifted. Maybe there was one too many conflicts going on at the same time or the odd layout of the story after 75% into the book. Either way, it just turned odd. It had a lot of "clique" elements but I just rolled with it. I liked the H/h and their interactions. Their chemistry was nice to read but some aspects were repetitive (i.e. spanking) to a fault. Overall it was a decent read.

Where is the rest?

The book ended at 86%. I don't want 24% in a preview for a different book.

Also the conflict...just resolved in 2 pages..

It was a sweet story. Just lacking some things like background.

I was a little annoyed with both of the main characters for the entire book. Still, it was a decent read.
