Waterfall was just as good as Teardrop, but also much better.
Eureka and Ander's story continues, and family and close friends get a lot more involved.
I read Waterfall in a day, and I enjoyed every moment of it.
I thought the plot was a lot better than Teardrop's one, and I was hooked the whole time. However, I read the ending in a haze, not quite comprehending what happened.
Overall, I really enjoyed Waterfall, and I can't wait for book 3! This is my third Lauren Kate book, and I've enjoyed all three. I can't wait to read the Fallen series as well.

At first I wanted to give this at least a two star rating because the book DOES have interesting concept and I think I keep holding onto the fact I really loved book one. Somehow I knew I wouldn't like this. I put off reading this for THREE years. It's sat on my shelf and I was never super interested in finding out more, but at the same time I wanted to know more on the year stuff. Unfortunately this book felt like it was much longer than it should be. I understand why, it's legitimately a completely different world (in fact there's two) than the WHOLE first book. Perhaps that's why I didn't love it? There was so much time spent in this book learning everything from scratch (because no one explained shit the book before).
There was so many characters and things happening, but it ended up feeling super slow paced and while I sort of liked the ending, I didn't like the vast majority of this book. Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE it, it just really wasn't for me. And I was super upset about the Andre/Brooks crap and the ending was weird and everyone getting powers was weird. And that's mainly how I felt about the book. It was ALL weird. It wasn't like the first book, the new stuff was just all weird.

I couldn't finish it because I was so bored I liked the fallen series but this series is to slow for me which is a shame.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I thought the first half was great, I loved the new characters that were introduced, and the new side stories that they brought to the picture. However, this book went extremely dark. So much death, so much killing. Eurekaās main focus changed partway through this book, and it ended up being very confusing. I listened to the ending 5 or 6 times and I still donāt understand what happened - I just know that I donāt care for the ending at all.

I liked this book, but I thought the first one was a lot better. Waterfall was not such an easy read for me. I still love Lauren Kate's beautiful writing style, but you really have to be concentrated while reading to be able to understand every single word of it. Some very strange things also happened, which made the story a little hard to imagine. The ending was a little predictable to me - somehow I just knew this was going to happen - but I was satisfied with it.

The prophecy must come to pass and Eureka may just lose it all before things can be righted. This is a darker conclusion to the Teardrop series.
Ehn. I felt like some of the feelings that were explored were retch worthy. Icky goopy teen puppy dog feelings. Ehn.

Waterfall picks up where Teardrop left off. Eureka has cried all but one of her tears. The world has flooded, people are dead and now, she must travel across the ocean to find the lost Seedbearer to find out how to defeat Atlas, the evil king of Atlantis. She discovers the truth behind the Book of Love and her Tearline, as well as shocking truths about Ander and the rest of her family.
I was generous with this one.
I liked Teardrop. I was looking forward to Waterfall. This book was a mess. Thingās are happening everywhere that simply donāt add up and are never explained. I felt as if Kate had ideas flying in from a thousand different directions, and she could have written a whole other series with the ideas introduced in this book. There are a lot of loose ends flying about. Thankfully thereās one more book to go, and I have faith sheāll finish on a good note (having read the Fallen series gives me hope).
Waterfall was okay. Good, but not nearly as good as Teardrop.
Will I read this again? I might have to, just to understand what was going on. I probably would reread it anyway, as I usually do right before another book in a series is released. And I definitely will finish the series. I think Lauren Kate is a good YA author, and like I said, I have faith sheāll clear everything up.

I was very excited about reading Waterfall. Previously Iāve read Fallen by Lauren Kate and I did really like her style of writing. All though it is clearly stated in Waterfalls description that it is a second book in a series, I took a chance on reading it. And I did find it rather confusing. It was very hard to get a set picture of the environment they were in, they were swimming in one moment, climbing in the next and so on. It could have been made cleared when, how and why the environment around them were changing. Maybe a more descriptive language would have helped the reader through the transitions of different environments. The whole experience has some sort of Wonderlandish overtones, but in order for them to enthrall the reader they should have been clearer.
The name of the main character, Eureka, is very distracting. Her name pops out on the page, not in a good way. It is a sort of extravagant word/name thatās very eye-catching and creates an annoyance.
Another thing I didnāt care for was the love triangle, Eureka seemed to just shift between who she loved for no apparent reason at all. And as I am opposed to love triangles to begin with, I felt that this was something that could be cut as it did not give the story anything.
The story featured a lot of fantastic element, witches and prophecies among others, and they kind of flooded the story more than the water did. I wish it had been more focused on a few elements rather than bringing in so many.
It does feature quite a few quot worthy parts that are just beautiful and heart-achingly true:
āLetting go of someone you loved wasnāt hard. There was no word for what it was, because even if you didnāt let them go they were still gone.ā pp.21
In the end, what kept me reading through this book was Lauren Kateās simplistic writing style. Her style of writing is easy to read, which again makes her books very quick reads. In the future I will keep checking out Lauren Kateās books, but I do not think I will venture into more books in the Teardrop-series.
