Main character is a terrible person, author hates the UK and US, lampoons the entire ESG ecosystem. This is a great book

Bizzare. Funny in an almost self deprecating way. Whole heartedly pessimistic. A decent read.

Venomous Lumpsucker is a satirical and funny read.
The topic is pretty dark: A dystopian world where tokens monetize the extinction of species. But the writer succeeds in making it a funny and lighthearted story.
We follow two people who embark on a Journey to save the Venomous Lumpsucker. One of them is Mark, a mining executive whose head is on the line, and the other is Karin, who needs it for her selfish, dark purposes. The result is a ridiculous and funny story.
Even though the book is clearly fiction, it feels very realistic due to the in-depth background info we get. That same background info was sometimes too long for my liking.
Overall, it was a fun experience, and I understand why this got the Arthur C. Clarke Award.

Viele gute (erschreckend plausible) Ideen, zusammengehalten von einer lahmen, wirren Story und unsympathischen Charakteren.
