Picked this up on a whim at the library and I'm happy I did. Touches on concerns in technological advancement while creating a sweet enemies to lovers narrative. Plus one of the MC's can do something really cool that ive always wished I could do! Fun yet emotional and full of heart.

I had to read this book twice before I could properly appreciate it and what was going on.

This was such a cute romance between a human woman and an AI robot. It was a super cute and endearing rivals to lovers between photographers. Both characters felt well rounded and like they really belonged in their world and were impacted by it. I also really like the themes it was poking at and trying to explore in such a short story.

I think that’s the weakness though, that it’s so short. I feel like I was missing a lot of info and context while reading, which was due to the quick pacing and how short the book is. I wish we had been given more context for the world and what was going on. That specifically was WHY I had to read it a second time, because I needed the ending context to really understand what was happening.

Outside of that, the artwork is BEAUTIFUL. It has so many little details and really suits the story. Some of the artistic choices to convey feelings and tone and help tell the reader what’s going on were so good.

Overall a cute read, I enjoyed it, it just needed to take a little bit more time with the story.

I feel like there is a good kernel of an idea here, and the main romance is cute, but I felt like the juxtaposition of the current headlines about AI and the overall positive view of AI in the form of one of the main characters just don’t quite click.

A story too short to fall in love in with.
The premise really intrigued me, and the art was so beautiful. Just when I was getting into the world building and wondering where it was going to go it was over as quick as I started it. The thing is the story is so short we really don't get to see chemistry, character development or any big conflict to overcome. It felt like it was half finished. When it ended I was like wait? What? If it was twice as long and had time to show them navigating their relationship and what it means to be human and be in love then I would have liked it more. There are so many topics I wish the story had gone into, instead what we got felt like the first chapter.

The concept and art were interesting. The execution seemed incomplete and rushed.
