I liked the plot, and Gabriel. I did find the pairing off of everyone, and her sister being into Nadirs sister a little incesty even though it’s not. Also that her older sister was not giving any big sister energy and honestly her character seemed a little unnecessary - overall it was well paced and the idols or artefacts were interesting, and learning more about the magic. Not super attached to the character though (aside from Gabriel) might just be me having read too many similar books in a row

I thought I loved this book. And then that ending... I just feel so betrayed. I don't even know how I'm going to wait until the next book comes out in November. So, going preorder it now...

I updated my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars because it took me about 4 months after reading this to even be able to pick up another book. The ending devastated me, and not in a good way. The next book is coming out this week, so stay tuned.

Not as faded paced or gripped as others, could easily cut 100 pages. Found Lors switch in attitude for Nadir to be quite jarring, also awful nickname.
