A very clever, very funny play that I had to read as a part of my Comparative Literature university module on 20th century drama. A perfect melding of surreal comedy with overtly political themes (using its comedic elements to parody, and thus criticise, totalitarian leadership / the Soviet Union in which Evgeny Shvarts resided).

honestly the part i most enjoyed was recognising lines from other books on that one page
towards the middle i desperately wanted this to end but after that it got better so it gets three rather than two stars
