OMG, where oh where do I start!!! I love this series!!! I am so happy that I have found this author and this series!!
The series is a spin-off or continuation of another couple sort of introduced in the first two books (Beloved and Beholden). This book is the first of a new duet that follows the journey of Natalie, a widow of one of the SEALs that worked with Jackson Cole from The Belonging Duet. How does one grieve the death of a spouse? Well, everyone grieves differently and this book is one HUGE rollercoaster ride and tissue investment of a journey!! I have read a few mixed reviews about this book; however, I believe Corinne Michaels has done a WONDERFUL job at weaving this story perfectly!! If you have any experience being a military spouse, truly BEING a military spouse this book will take you on a ride that is so emotional and I believe that you will truly be able to connect with the journey that Natalie endures.
Warning there is a HUGE CLIFFHANGER!! Hello it is part of a DUET!! I will say that I knew the cliffhanger was coming but it was not the one I thought. I can't wait to dive into the next part but I have to wait for my Kindle to charge, which has provided the chance to write this review ;-) I look forward to recording my duet video review because I am sure the second half is going to be just as amazing as the first. I also LOVE that The Salvation Series continues to grow with a sub-plot mystery; however, so far I could have read this duet before The Belonging Duet and been fine. The series is connected but not depended upon being read in order, if you are not inclined to do so.

I love a good military based romance and this certainly ticked that box. Natalie is immersed in the military life, the wife of an ex-SEAL who does equally risky work now. All their friends are military. The story starts with the most difficult news a military wife could receive and this book tracks the next year. It deals with pain, anger, hope and love. There are a number of twists and turns that are completely unexpected and those plot twists kept me fully engaged.
The male narration, although few and far between was excellent, a deep voice capturing the emotion of the character. The female narrator had the odd whiny moment but otherwise delivered well.
I just have to go on and read the next book, otherwise the suspense will kill me.
