One day in December, Laurie is on the bus, looking out the window, and sees a handsome man sitting in a bus shelter reading a hardcover book. He looks up, and the two connect immediately. They lock eyes and have a conversation without using any words. Laurie is sure she has just seen the love of her life. Unfortunately, Laurie cannot get off the bus before it takes off, and she is left scrambling to figure out a way to find this mystery man she lovingly calls "bus guy." Laurie and her best friend Sarah spend a year trying to find her "bus guy" to no avail.
Simultaneously, as Laurie gives up searching for the love of her life, Sarah brings home a new man that she is head over heels for. Surprisingly, or not surprisingly, Sarah brings home Laurie's "bus guy" to introduce to her! Laurie decides that her friendship is more important to her, and she holds in her feelings and doesn't tell Sarah that her new beau, Jack, is her "bus guy!" I can't make this shit up. It is just too stupid. Jack and Laurie each wonder if the other recognizes the other, which, spoiler alert, they do, but don't say anything! The pain Laurie feels seeing her best friend and bus guy love is hard on her, and she endures it for years this way.
As an individual who is a therapy advocate and geeky about communication, the characters' problems could have quickly been resolved if people were just honest and talked to one another! The main characters, Laurie and Jack, were one-dimensional, and I didn't care about them. The story could have been more varied and inspired, but it was, unfortunately, frustrating and cliche.

Such a perfect love story. It gave me the giddy feeling of falling in love all over again. Plot: Laura sees her dream man and feels an intense love, while on a bus, passing him at a bus stop. She looks everywhere for him; but she meets him in an inconvenient way.

Good book, just got a little boring near the end.
