It was sweet! Interesting concept, loved the slight addams-family vibe, & the two main characters were very sweet & definitely grew throughout the book.

A cozy, lightly paranormal romance that is perfect for fall

It is clear how much Ashley Poston loves romance books/movies and I loved the references peppered throughout the book

It was clear to see where the story was going but I didn’t mind this at all. I really enjoyed the journey. I wouldn’t have minded a little more development on the relationship though (I think it would have been really great had they known each other longer ‘alive’. They went from meeting to kissing *very* quickly)

I loved Florence’s family and the funeral home setting. I would love to read more stories set here

This is one of the best books I have read/listened to in a while. It’s one of those “practically perfect books” that you just know—even while reading it—that you will be going back to it over and over again. This novel is BEAUTIFULLY written, with stunning imagery, and delightful conversations amongst the characters.

I rarely feel books merit a second read; but, I have a feeling I will be reading this one once a year.

This book was okay. I thought the concept sounded interesting and have enjoyed another book by this author (the seven year slip, 5 ⭐️’s). However, with this one I found it a little insta lovey and strange. I liked how she explored grief in this book, that felt very relatable, but the actual romance was a bit of a miss for me.

I had to stop, not because it's bad but because my late sister's birthday was recently and we're sliding into the time of year where I lost my mom, my sister, and my grandmother.

I will absolutely come back to this. The story is interesting. But the emotions this book stirs up is too much right now. See you in the spring time.

Did not expect a happily ever after out of this one. Loved it.

I laughed, I cried, I cringed, and….I ultimately wished Florence’s character had actually grown a spine. She could have done a number of things to resolve what her ex did to her and she just doesn’t. That’s one point that I feel wasn’t really resolved
(the punching bit and giving ONE sanctimonious speech is NOT growth)
and did irk me. I did like her family and the different perspective her father had regarding funerals. There were a couple of cringey lines (zoom-zoom juice?), but I did ultimately really like it despite some minor flaws.

My favorite book of the year! One where I actually teared up a bit. The characters grief was written so relatably real and honest. And it just made the story of a ghost romance somehow real.
